WE WERE FOUNDED IN 2015 AS, 'SOUL SESSIONS' AN EVENT FOCUSED ON SHARING LO-FI, NEO-SOUL, R&B MUSIC AND LIVE ART. WE HAVE SINCE EVOLVED INTO 'WEARESOUL' (EST. 2019).

WE ARE SOUL IS AN ALTERNATIVE MUSIC AND ART COMMUNITY-BASED PLATFORM ENCOURAGING CREATIVES TO ENGAGE AND CONNECT. BY DESIGNING, CURATING AND EXECUTING

UNIQUE VISUAL PROJECTS AND EXPERIENCES, WE OFFER AUDIENCES THE OPPORTUNITY TO SHARE THEIR CREATIVITY WITH OUR COMMUNITY AND ULTIMATELY, BECOME PART OF IT.

OUTSIDE OF MUSIC AND ART, AS OUR CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY, WE LAUNCHED THE SOUL PURPOSE CAMPAIGN AND THE ILE WA PROJECT TO BRING ABOUT SOCIAL JUSTICE

AND POSITIVE CHANGE TO YOUNG PEOPLE IN DEVELOPING COMMUNITIES THROUGH EDUCATION AND CREATIVITY.

WE ARE SOUL EVENTS AND MUSIC/ART RELATED EVENTS.

JOB DESCRIPTION

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

- SUPPORTING THE MUSIC AND CULTURE EDITOR (LEAD WRITER) BY UPLOADING ARTICLES TO THE WEBSITE

- MANAGING THE BLOG TRACKER

- MANAGING AND UPDATING THE BLOG CALENDAR

- PROVIDING THE MUSIC AND CULTURE EDITOR (LEAD WRITER) WITH BLOG RELATED UPDATES

- PROVIDING THE SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER WITH UPDATES ON BLOG ACTIVITY/RELEASES

- WRITING ARTICLES FOR THE WE ARE SOUL BLOG:

Supporting the music and culture editor (lead writer) with interview questions for new articles
Managing the 'Time With' series and 'Vibe of the Quarter' series

- SOURCING AND WRITING SMALLER CONTENT PIECES FOR THE WEBSITE:

Music Page: Vibe of The Month and Video of The Month
Art Page: Artist of The Month and Upcoming Artist

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

Experience writing music blogs/articles
Experience writing art blogs/articles

USEFUL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

A minimal eye that will be able to source imagery for all articles and present them in a minimal way on the website
Ideally, applicant should be organised
Ideally, applicant will be comfortable talking to artists, artist management and/or PR companies via email
An ability to find relevant content and inspiration for the WE ARE SOUL brand
A strong music taste and knowledge of artists and activity in Neo-Soul, Lo-Fi, R&B and the Alt music scene
Any experience working with wix or editor x
Knowledge of/or an interest in the art industry
